The Problem with the ACER Practice Tests
The ACER practice tests are great and I highly recommend you also use them but the problem is, they only provide one practice test, it is not full size and there are no explanations to the answers.
This is why I created this website; to help anyone who was in the same position as me; you want extra questions specific to the entrance test, you don’t want to waste time looking for practice material online & you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

You don’t need a Paypal account to Pay, instead you can pay as a guest by clicking the ‘Pay with Debit or Credit Card’ button.
On the payment page, just turn off the ‘create and account’ option if you don’t want a Paypal account (see image below):

How Can I Trust Your Website?
Trust can be difficult to establish in today’s digital environment. If you have such concerns, one great thing about Paypal is, if you purchase through Paypal and don’t receive your product, you can receive a full refund through Paypal without having to contact me. You can read more about this on Paypal’s website. This has happened to me three times over five years and each time was due to the reasons below.
What Happens if I don’t Receive the Practice Exams?
There are 3 possible causes why:
1) The email with the practice tests ended up in your spam folder. Please check there first.
2) Very occasionally, the email account associated or entered on the Paypal payment page is incorrect or no longer in use. I can’t do anything about this except wait for the customer to get in touch via the email on the contact section of this website.
3) Finally, every week I have to re-new the auto-emailer license (Sundays) and occasionally I forget! I do receive an email when the auto-emailer stops working so I fix it and send out any customer emails ASAP.
How Do I Pay Without Using Paypal?
Drop me an email, and I’ll send across my bank details for direct bank transfer. I’ll email you the exams before you make the payment.

Study Guide - How to get the most out of the QPSea Practice Tests
General Tips:
- One main tip is to avoid completing the same practice exams repeatedly on the same day or in quick succession as it loses the benefits when you become more familiar with the questions. Avoid doing this as all you are doing is training yourself on a specific set of questions. Instead, spread your practice across multiple days and ideally weeks.
- Because there are 3x practice tests for each section, you want to take them seriously on the first take. Make sure you are rested and won’t be distracted. Approach them how you would take the real entrance test.
- These practice tests are designed to give you a realistic practice experience with similar questions on the actual entrance test. After completing the 3x practice tests for each section, you should have a good idea of what your strengths and weaknesses are. Obviously, if you do well on all 3x practice tests the first time, you are in a great position to take the entrance test. If you are like most people however, you will have some areas you need to improve upon.
- AI is a great tool to help you on areas you are struggling with. AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, etc, can help you with answer explanations and to create more specific questions for you to practice on. More about how to use these tools below.
- If you are looking for further practice questions, sourcing other generic abstract, literacy and mechanical questions will be helpful as these types of questions don’t differ too much between aptitude tests. With numerical, try to practice on a range of skills including; percentages, ratios, reading graphs/charts, volumes, basic algebra etc.
- Take the tests on a laptop or desktop computer and not your phone. Everything is smaller on the phone and it will be harder to read the questions.
Step 1: Start with 1st Practice Test for Each Section
- The first practice test for each section is the most important test you will take. Why? You don’t know what to expect. Take it seriously. Make sure you are not rushing, could be distracted and feel mentally alert.
- Make a note of the date and score you received as you want to compare the results to the other tests or if you do the same tests again later on.
- Don’t look at the explanations yet.
- Think about your approach; were you trying to answer all the questions and rushed some answers? Did you feel like you spent too much time on some questions and should have moved on sooner? Reflect about how your approach went what you could do to improve.
Step 2: Review Explanations for Incorrect Questions
- For any questions marked incorrect, take the time to understand where you went wrong. This is the important step!
- Once you have reviewed the explanations and understood your mistakes, repeat the #1 individual tests. Ideally, day or two before retaking them so the questions are more fresh in your mind.
- Why repeat the same tests? You will now know what to expect from each section, and having gone through the explanations for the incorrect questions, you should be able to improve your results.
- If you scored higher, great work—proceed to Step 3.
- If you scored the same or lower, ask yourself what happened. Where did you go wrong? Take time to dig deeper and reflect—e.g., was it time pressure? Were you rushing? Are there specific types of questions you are struggling with?
- If you are struggling with certain types of questions, YouTube and AI models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity can be a great help. For example, upload a screenshot of a practice question to one of these language models and ask it to explain the answer in easier-to-understand language. Or ask the language models to create practice questions specific to the ones you are struggling with so you can work on your weaknesses (more on this below).
- After taking the first #1 individual tests for the second time, move on to Step 3
Step 3: Improve Your Weaknesses
- Go through the 2nd practice tests for each section.
- Again, record the date of each test and your results.
- Similar to Step 2, take the time to go through the incorrect questions and their explanations to understand where you went wrong. It’s not about looking at the correct answer—it’s about understanding how the correct answer was obtained.
- Compare the results of the 2nd practice tests with the 1st. Have you improved? Have you passed? If so, congrats—move on to Step 4.
- If your results have not improved over the 2nd practice tests or you haven’t passed any of them, you might need external help. Have you tried using a language model such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity to assist with the answer explanations? If not, try that. Or do you know someone who can help with the questions? That would be ideal. Failing those options, consider getting a tutor—Google “aptitude test tutors” for your region.
- If this is you, refrain from taking the 3rd practice tests. You want to improve your skills before take these. The first time you take the last practice test is the most important as the questions will be new to you. Put the time in to improve your weaknesses before taking them.
Step 4: Take the 3rd Practice Tests
- As above, the first time you take a practice test is the most important so treat them seriously.
- Take note of the date you took the test and your score.
- Compare your results to the other tests you have taken.
- Evaluate how you went.
- By the end of the 3rd test, you are ideally scoring quite well. If you are not happy with your results and you have time, then I recommend not repeating my practice tests for some time. Seek other practice questions and then only re-take my practice tests once you feel more confident getting a higher score.
Tips for Accessing Extra Practice Questions
- This works best for numerical questions. It doesn’t work for abstract reasoning, as the software isn’t good at creating abstract images.
- Open ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, or another free online language model
- Copy a question (or take a screenshot) of a question you want more practice on and paste/upload it into an AI. Prompt the language model to answer it for you, eg; ‘answer the attached questions”
- Next, write something along these lines: “Write 10 similar questions as above with 6 multiple-choice answers, including the correct one, but change the subject.
- If you find the questions too easy, instruct it to increase the difficulty: “Write 10 similar questions as above with 6 possible answers, but change the subject and make it more difficult.
- You can copy and paste these prompts
- Once you have answered the generated questions, ask for the answers and explanations. Remember, if you are struggling with the explanations, you can prompt the language model to make it easier to understand with something like, “provide an easier to understand explanation” or, “provide an explanation so a 15 year old can easily understand”
- This is an easy and quick way to get as much practice as you want on any types of questions you are struggling with. Cool, eh
- I have found different language models provide different questions so if you’re not happy with the extra questions the AI model is creating, try a different one.
Why I Created QPSea Practice Tests?
My name is Luke and I built this website to help recruits like yourself who are on the path to joining the QLD Police Force.
How? By Offering you extra practice material specific to the Queensland Police Service Entrance Assessment at an affordable price.
By offering extra practice exams, it gives you the opportunity to build upon your strengths, work on and improve any weaknesses you may have and finally, to take the entrance test with more confidence.
How did I get the idea to create this website?
Back in 2018, I applied into the Victoria Police and later withdrew my application. However, after sitting their aptitude test, I realised there was an opportunity to help other candidates who were in a similar situation to me when I prepared for the test; they wanted extra practice with similar questions to the official aptitude test.
In Feb 2025, I sat and passed the QLD Police Service Entrance Assessment and the all practice questions found on this website are based on the actual entrance test.
Since then, I created a series of practice exams (all questions created by myself) for the following organisations: Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police, WA Police, VIC Firefighters, NSW Firefighters and QLD Firefighters, NZ Police, NZ Fire Fighters, and the NZ Defence Force., helping thousands of recruits like yourself pass their entrance test.
Over that time, I’ve received some great feedback such as from Jacob:
“I want to give a huge thanks for making some affordable practice materials for the entrance exam, it was really helpful leading up to my exam (which I did really well in). Your exams really created a great practicing environment, I believe set me up for success. So, thank you!”
I find helping others to be rewarding & I’ve proven to be quite successful at creating quality aptitude tests. I’m proud of the work I create and am happy to help you out if you’re stuck on a question or wanting advice to prepare for the test. Drop me a line below.
All the best,
Luke
